Faith itself is a delicate matter. It becomes even more sensitive, if you refer to faith when it comes to discriminating comments, however evidences later come up, which show that you do not bend it with the faith. But let’s start from the beginning …
Carrie Prejan is a pretty young woman. For this reason she was chosen as Miss California. She WAS chosen as Miss California. Meanwhile she is not Miss California anymore, although no new Miss contests took time by then. How this could happen is an interesting story about appearance and reality: After Carrie Prejan won the Miss California contest, she also took part in the Miss USA contest. In a live show on the occasion of the contest, she refused the equality of homosexuals with clear words. Although she was the favorite in the contest to this time, she did not become the next Miss USA. She obviously didn’t like this and she publicly complained about she was made a laughing stock due to her Christian views. As she was deprived the title of Miss California in the meantime – as mentioned at the beginning – Carrie Prejan sued for an amount of millions. The organizers justified their deprivation with the fact that she did not appear at an appointed press event.
So far so clear, so unfair to Carrie Prejan, you might think, after all there is the right to freedom of opinion in the USA. Generally everybody has the right to express any views, and also (especially) when it is about religion. However, appearance comes into play …
Carrie Prejan will have to do without the good money. She abandoned the lawsuit in the meantime – after the opposing counsel showed her a not yet published porn movie she is playing the main role in. Carrie Prejan is said to have needed 15 seconds after this presentation, to decide against the continuation of this lawsuit. She received 100,000 Dollar by way of consolation, to pay her attorneys. She herself did not get a penny. This story shows that faith is indeed a delicate matter.
