New details in the Tauss case

According to a report of REPORT MAINZ that refers to the indictment of the prosecuting authority in Karlsruhe, the accusations against Jörg Tauss, former SPD Member of German Parliament, are said to be more serious than previously supposed. Three DVDs and a mobile phone with pornographic materials were obviously found in his private residence. This lets investigators assume, that Tauss collected this material for private purposes and not for researches. Tauss said that these indications are “quite ambivalent”. According to the indictment, the examination results differ from Tauss’ statements in seven points. For example, he apparently exchanged child pornography via his mobile phone in January 2009, although indicators said, that he stopped with the researches in the autumn of 2008. Furthermore almost solely material with boys was found in Tauss’ apartment – along with legal homo erotic pornography under his bed, according to the indictment. The prosecuting authority interpreted this as another indication that Tauss did not carry out undercover researches, but acted privately. Tauss replied to this accusation, that he was only able to access the child pornography scene via a homosexual phone hotline and also had to offer adult material for exchange. Tauss furthermore adds, that the amount of child pornographic material was very small with 35 megabyte. He told REPORT MAINZ: “I don’t even know the material in detail, as I used it in stamp size and contrary to the opinion of the public prosecutors, in order to get an overview of the scene, but not for sexual satisfaction. [...] However, I will confidently leave any conclusions that can be made through the discovery locations to a judge, if necessary.”
